CLEVELAND — The time has come here in Northeast Ohio for us to hunker down with our coats and hats. While temps may be frigid, there's no better time to enjoy a warm bowl of soup.
During Tuesday's Lunch Break, Hollie Strano joined Jay Crawford, at his home, to learn how to make his favorite soup--Italian Sausage.

Here's what you'll need:
- 1 lb Italian Sausage
- 2 large russet potatoes, sliced in ½, then in ¼ slices
- 1 large onion
- 1 cup bacon bits (optional)
- 2 garlic cloves minced (optional for Jay!)
- 2 cups kale
- 2 8 oz cans chicken broth
- 1 quart water
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Here's what to do:
- Brown sausage, drain and add to soup pot
- Add chicken broth and water – stir
- Add potatoes, onions, garlic
- Cook on medium heat until potatoes are done
- Add bacon
- Add salt & pepper to taste
- Turn heat to low and add kale
- Add cream – heat through and serve
