It's official: Barrio to open location in Strongsville

It will be the chain's eighth Northeast Ohio location.

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Nearly four months after hinting at its next location, Barrio has made it official.

The popular chain known (by its own admission) for "tacos + tequila + whiskey" announced Wednesday it will open a restaurant in Strongsville. Barrio tweeted out a sign from the new spot saying "coming soon," and it looks like it will be replacing Molly McGhee's Sports Pub on Prospect Road.

Barrio previously alluded to a Strongsville spot back in August, simply telling customers to "stay tuned." The Day of the Dead-themed eatery offers tacos in a "build your own" concept, margaritas of many flavors and queso perfect for dipping.

This will be Barrio's eighth Northeast Ohio location, with the most recent opening up last September in Kent. They also have a footprint in Porsmouth, New Hampshire, and will soon open up on the Michigan State University campus.
