AKRON, Ohio — Happy birthday, Swensons!
The iconic burger joint that got its legendary start in Akron is celebrating its 85th anniversary all week long. From Monday, Aug. 5 until Sunday, Aug. 11, the drive-in restaurants will be giving away $10 worth of gift coins to every 85th car at any of its locations.
To be eligible, the driver must make a purchase, and the $10 gift coins can be used for any future purchase.
Known for its signature Galley Boy, which is a double cheeseburger smothered in two homemade sauces, Swensons is consistently ranked among America's best burger spots. It's even a favorite of Akron native LeBron James.
