CLEVELAND — If you have been missing your favorite local restaurants during this pandemic, we’ve got some good news for you.

On Thursday, Ohio City Pizzeria announced that it is sponsoring ‘The Ohio City Local Takeout Challenge’ starting Friday, May 1.

Participants will have the entire month of May to grab takeout from the 11 participating restaurants and when finished, those who complete the challenge will be entered to win a $25 gift card to all 11 restaurants.

John Litten, President of Ohio City Pizzeria says that he hopes the campaign will help encourage individuals to support local businesses, while staying well fed during this time.

“We are truly excited to present this challenge to all the amazing Clevelanders who support the Ohio City community throughout the year,” says Litten.

“We are fortunate to have so many outstanding food and drink establishments in our community, all of whom have stepped up during this crisis to help the community."

The 11 restaurants participating in the challenge include Big Mouth Donut, The Black Pig, Bookhouse Brewing, Great Lakes Brewpub, Heck’s Café, Larder Deli & Bakery, Le Petit Triangle, Ohio City BBQ, Ohio City Pizzeria, Phoenix Coffee and Saucy Brew Works

To participate, interested parties must like and follow each of the participating restaurants on social media and post a picture tagging the restaurant when you grab your take out. Once you have gotten food from all the restaurants, submit all 11 pictures to OhioCityTakeoutChallenge@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Takeout Challenge.’ That’s it.

Nothing like supporting local and eating good at the same time.
