Less than one month out from Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras), the famous Rudy's Strudel has preparations underway for what is typically their biggest day of the year.
According to a release sent to 3News, the classic Polish-restaurant will host a "Paczki Party" on February 16, with more than 30 flavors of paczkis each hand made and filled.
Rudy's Strudel also announced this year's special flavor, the "Parma Cristo," which is described as a "mid-century classic Monte Cristo Sandwich with our very own Rudy's style Paczki twist."
The "Paczki Party" will be a collaboration with several other local vendors, including Current Year Records, Porco Lounge, and Tiki Room, Brick and Barrel, the Tea Lab, Sweet Moses, and Dyngus Day Cleveland.
The vendors will commune in the parking lot of Rudy's Strudel for a special pop-up style event, which will include raffles, contests, and more.
The event will also feature live music from D.J.s Michael Stutz, Ron Kretsch, Max Payola, and C. Randolph C, along with Jake Kouwe from the Chardon Polka Band.
Rudy's Strudel says the event will follow social distancing protocols put out by the Ohio Department of Health, and will be COVID-19 compliant.
