CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Ballet is honoring two Hathaway Brown students and sisters who died in June following a tragic hammock accident at their home in mid-June.
The sisters, 14-year-old Scout and 12-year-old Chasey, were playing on a hammock with their younger siblings when a brick pillar holding the hammock collapsed on them.
Late last week, the Cleveland Ballet company announced that they would be commemorating the lives of the two young girls with a performance in on the Facebook page of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies on Friday, July 24 at noon.
The company performed excerpts from "The Nutcracker" as well as their rendition of "The Magic Flute."
Scout and Chasey's father, JJ Scaravilli, talked with 3News' Laura Caso in June and described his two oldest daughters as "bright lights" that lit up any room.
"I am their dad, I always thought they were the most beautiful creatures and they are definitely beautiful," JJ told Caso, "But their real beauty is and was on the inside and it still is on the inside."
Last month, Hathaway Brown announced that the girls, who have two younger sisters starting fifth grade in the fall, will be honored with a scholarship fund in their name.
