Local family with struggling food business provides meals to healthcare workers

The owners of Greek Taverna provided meals to Cleveland Clinic on Friday and St. Vincent Charity Hospital earlier in the week.

CLEVELAND — A Greek family of three wanted to give back to healthcare workers fighting COVID-19 on the frontlines on Friday by donating carts of food to Cleveland Clinic.

Greek Taverna is owned by brothers George and Manny, along with their cousin Miko Tsamournieris. The trio owns and operates a catering business and several hot dog carts in Cleveland.

Their generosity has fed hundreds this week, including 200 meals to St. Vincent Charity Hospital.

Cleveland Clinic workers were thankful and said everyone has been so kind and considerate during these hard times.

Manny said, “we appreciate the service for what they do, it feels really good to give back to the community and without the frontline workers we would be in trouble.”

The family is not making money for their business because of the coronavirus, but they have big hearts and want to help people.
