CLEVELAND — Although it may not feel like spring due to the stay at home order, one local man took it upon himself to remind Clevelanders that there is light (and flowers) at the end of this tunnel.
Andrew Thomas, owner of Andrew Thomas Design, a wedding floral display company here in Northeast Ohio, has recently become somewhat of a local celebrity after using flowers from cancelled events to brighten up iconic Cleveland locations. “We’re doing it to bring hope to people and let them know that there is light coming out of this” Thomas said.
Just a few days ago, pictures of the Edgewater ‘Cleveland’ sign blew up on social media after Thomas created a masterpiece with flowers of all sizes, shapes, and colors.
On Monday night, he did it again.
Stopping again at Edgewater Park, Thomas decorated the ‘Lake Metroparks’ sign at the entrance to the beach.
“Flowers have always brought joy to me and sharing that is something I wanted to do with people in this city, especially during a time like this,” said Thomas, “I want this to be something for people to take in and enjoy the beauty of, but to take part in as well. If they take a flower home they will remember the beauty of it and the story that goes with it.”
