Watch: Ohio girls playing virtual basketball tips off Gov. Mike DeWine's coronavirus news conference

Missing sports? This will bring a smile to your face!

COLUMBUS, Ohio — During the course of his daily coronavirus press briefings, Governor Mike DeWine has sought to provide a few moments of inspiration.

On Monday, he bookended his press conference with two great videos. At the end was an empowering tribute to Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton, while sports highlighted the beginning.

DeWine showed a video of several girls from Fairfield and Pickaway counties playing a virtual game of basketball together.

"We talk about social distancing," the governor said in introducing the video. "One of the hardest things if for a younger or older person when they see a basketball hoop to resist going there and having a pickup game of basketball."

There was even a little bit of a crowd cheer at the end of the clip, which brought a big smile to DeWine's face.  "You gotta have the crowd noise," he said.
