USA Today nominates 'A Christmas Story' House and Stan Hywet Hall for 'Best Holiday Historic Home Tour': Here's how you can vote

You can vote for Cleveland's "A Christmas Story" House and Akron's Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens to help them be among USA Today's '10Best' from now through Dec. 2.

CLEVELAND — Two of Northeast Ohio's favorite attractions are among the nominees for USA Today's 10Best Holiday Historic Home Tours for 2024. And from now until Dec. 2, you can vote for Cleveland's "A Christmas Story" House and Akron's Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens to help them be among the "10Best."

According to USA Today, Stan Hywet Hall and "A Christmas Story" House were among 20 historic houses across the U.S. that were "nominated as the best by an expert panel."

Here's how USA Today describes "A Christmas Story" House

Fans of the famed movie "A Christmas Story" should be sure to tour this Cleveland house and museum. The interior and exterior of this 19th-century Victorian have been renovated and restored to its movie splendor, and the museum across the street is home to tons of props, costumes, and movie memorabilia. Super-fans can even sleep overnight in this fabled home.

Stan Hywet Hall, the first and largest National Historic Landmark in Akron, Ohio, is also the nation's sixth-largest historic home that's open to the public. This Tudor mansion was built by Goodyear Tire & Rubber co-founder F.A. Seiberling in the early 1900s. On select days throughout the holiday season, the Deck the Hall event showcases the house and grounds which are adorned with nostalgic decorations and more than a million holiday lights.

You can vote once a day for your favorite tour from now through Monday, Dec. 2 at noon. The top 10 winning tours will be announced on Friday, Dec. 6. CLICK HERE to vote.

As of Thursday afternoon at 3:45 p.m., Stan Hywet Hall is No. 5 on the list, while "A Christmas Story" House checks in at No. 6.
