This is so cool!
When you’re watching the 96th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday morning, a trio of students from Northeast Ohio will be among those marching in the holiday tradition.
Claymont High School seniors Naomi Hallman, Alex Douglas and Dawson Cox are all participating in the parade as part of the Macy’s Great American Marching Band.
The principal at the Tuscarawas County school tells 3News the students left for the parade last Friday.
"Congratulations to them all," a post on the district's Facebook page declares while showcasing the recognition each received from the state of Ohio and Tuscarawas County Commissioners amid being selected for the Macy's marching band.
The 2022 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade airs on WKYC-TV from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. A replay of the parade will also air from 2-5 p.m. after the 2022 National Dog Show.
So what's new at this year's parade? Among the highlights: A Bluey balloon has been added to the lineup for 2022 in celebration of the popular Disney Jr. series. For parents with kids who love Bluey, the show is bringing a live tour to Playhouse Square in Cleveland next summer.
Performers listed for this year's parade include Big Time Rush, Blanco Brown, Cam, Dionne Warwick, Jordin Sparks, Joss Stone, Kirk Franklin, Paula Abdul, Sean Paul and more.
It all comes to a close as Santa Claus welcomes in the Christmas season.
