The switch is flipped! Nela Park’s holiday lights illuminate East Cleveland

This year's display includes a scene of playful children with first responders and essential workers decorating for the holidays.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — The holiday season is upon us, and Nela Park in East Cleveland, GE Lighting's World Headquarters, is showcasing their new display for 2020.

Officials flipped the switch to illuminate the 500,000 LED lights on Friday, Dec. 4. The lights stretch along Noble Road for several blocks, and will remain lit through Jan. 4, 2021.

“The display features a series of eight colorfully lit vignettes,” organizers said in a press release.

The highlights include:

  • Holiday house with candle-lit windows.
  • Patriotic stars with red, white and blue trees.
  • A 38-foot gingerbread house adorned with candy canes, lollipops and gumdrops.
  • A scene of playful children surrounded by first responders and essential workers decorating for the holidays.
  • Guests can also experience the gingerbread house selfie station.

The theme for this display is “Merry and Bright”

2020 marks the 96th year for Nela Park's holiday traditions.
