CLEVELAND — We’ve all been there.
You’re in the middle of a store or a restaurant and your toddler goes into full throttle meltdown.
Fun, right?
Or maybe it happens at home whenever you try to get them to do something they don’t want to do.
In today’s edition of "Mom Squad," we get advice from several local experts on how to help your child through that emotional outburst.
Our experts include:
- Dr. Kimberly Bell: Clinical Director, Hanna Perkins Center & English Governess and Nanny School
- Max Zak: Instructor PEP Prentiss Autism Center Coordinator
- Stella Moga Kennedy: Owner, Le Chaperon Rouge Childcare Centers
Our panel all agreed, one of the most common reasons your child will start to meltdown is because they aren’t getting enough time to transition from one activity to the next. For example, parents who want to get out the door quickly will have a hard time if they don’t give their child a 10-minute warning or explain that play time is coming to an end and it’s time to get ready to leave.
