Since Trivisonno’s death, colleagues and officials throughout the state of Ohio have chimed in to express their sympathy. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine expressed his condolences on behalf of his family in a two-part Tweet.
"Fran and I are very saddened to hear of the death of Mike Trivisonno," DeWine wrote. "Triv was one of a kind - a man who would ask tough questions but who also had a big heart."
In his 35 years as a talk show host, Trivisonno used his platform to raise more than $5 million for charity, much of which was for Coats for Kids. His annual "Vegas Show Benefit" was in support of the organization, which provides gently used winter coats to children in need of a jacket during the winter months.
