MENTOR, Ohio — A blind 7-year-old pit bull mix has found a forever home after spending four years in local shelters.
Barklee was transferred to the Lake County Humane Society in January after spending three years in a shelter in Youngstown.
Barklee was timid when he arrived but staff and volunteers worked with him and gained his trust.
Barklee soon got to experience new things. He got to ride in a car and visit new places like the beach, parks and pet stores to get him socialized and ready for adoption.
Barklee's friends have been hoping that he'd find a home of his own and Wednesday is that day. Barklee's new family picked him up Wednesday afternoon.
