CLEVELAND — Each year, NBC and Telemundo stations across the United States partner with animal shelters and rescues for the annual Clear the Shelters campaign, which is a month-long pet adoption and donation campaign.
This year, 3News' Kierra Cotton kicked off the campaign on Saturday, July 30, at Rescue Village during the GO! morning show.
Throughout the entire month of August, 3News will welcome various pets and shelters as Clear the Shelters runs until Aug. 31.
Across Northeast Ohio, nearly 20 shelters are taking place in the campaign. A complete list of the locations participating in your area can be found HERE.
In 2015, the Clear the Shelters campaign began with just a single news station participating from Texas. Since then, the campaign has expanded across the United States as more than 700,000 furry friends have found their forever homes.
Last year, thanks to all of the 3News viewers that participated, more than 2,500 pets were adopted in Northeast Ohio.
