CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is slashing adoption fees on all dogs for the coming week amid high capacity in the shelter.
Until Wednesday, July 31, the normal $95 adoption fee is reduced to $30 as part of a collaboration with Bissell Pet Foundation's nationwide Empty the Shelters campaign.
The $30 fee covers spaying/neutering, vaccines, a 2024 dog license, microchipping and a current rabies tag.
“Shelters are continuing to experience high intake levels, causing a significant strain on the animals,” said CCAS Administrator Mindy Naticchioni. “We are currently out of kennels for new strays. If you’ve been considering bringing a fur baby into your home, the Empty the Shelters event provides a great opportunity to do so at a reduced cost.”
The shelter is also looking to fill a "critical need" for temporary foster homes for incoming animals. Anyone interested in fostering is asked to email foster@cuyahogacounty.us or stop by the shelter.
The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 12-4 p.m.
