CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Animal Protective League is hoping to find homes for dozens of cats and dogs recently rescued from hoarding situations.
The APL says it has acquired 89 cats and 90 dogs from four different animal hoarding cases over the last four weeks. The last case involved 84 Chihuahuas and two larger dogs all living under one roof.
Animals were living in deplorable conditions in all four cases, meaning most of the animals were emaciated, dehydrated and infested with fleas from living in filth.
The APL has reduced adoption fees to $10 for adult cats and $50 for select adult dogs from Sept. 27-29.
Some of the rescued Chihuahuas aren't ready for adoption yet, but will be added to the Cleveland APL's adoption website when they're ready. Fees are $150 for Chihuahuas.
