ELYRIA, Ohio — The Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County has been busy of late, rescuing over 100 animals from abuse and neglect. Many of these animals are now available for adoption.
According to Friendship APL, 80 animals, including rabbits, rats, and birds, were removed from a house in Elyria as part of a humane investigation earlier this week. On Thursday, the shelter posted on its Facebook page that it has now rescued a total of 102 animals in the last week.
"That is 102 additional animals that we were not prepared to take on," Friendship APL wrote. "We are beyond FULL. We do not just have dogs and cats, but small animals/pocket pets as well."
