CLEVELAND — For the 12th time, WKYC Studios and the Cleveland Animal Protective League partnered up to host the "Fur-Get-Me-Not" Telethon to raise money on Thursday. And once again, the generosity of our community has been on full display.
As of Thursday evening, the total money raised for the "Fur-Get-Me-Not" telethon thus far is $128,858.
The telethon took place Thursday from 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on WKYC.
Although the telethon may be over, donations are always accepted by the Cleveland APL, which can be made online HERE
Throughout the telethon, the APL's work to rescue, heal, nurture, adopt and advocate for animals in need was showcased.
All proceeds will be used to benefit the Cleveland APL. The money will go toward assisting the Cleveland APL with medical care, animal rescue and the daily care of animals at the shelter.
During last year's telethon, more than $100,000 was raised to support their efforts.
3News' Kierra Cotton visited the Cleveland APL on Saturday morning to preview this upcoming week's telethon.
The Cleveland APL also visited WKYC Studios during the pet of the week segment on Saturday with Holly, who is up for adoption.
Ahead of the telethon, the Cleveland APL is selling limited-edition shirts for $30. Profits from the shirts will directly benefit the Cleveland APL.
