MENTOR, Ohio — The Lake Humane Society is asking for donations to help take care of a puppy with a broken femur.
In late December, a two-month-old Golden Retriever puppy was taken to Lake Humane Society after being taken by Eastlake Police.
The puppy's femur had been shattered by alleged blunt force trauma as an eyewitness reported to the police. When police arrived to help the puppy, they found the pup lying motionless on the ground.
Hotch was taken in by the Lake Humane Society. He had emergency surgery and is continued to be monitored by radiographs every two weeks until his femur is healed.
Hutch will require more surgery and eventually have the metal plate in his leg removed. He has about four to six weeks of recovery ahead.
Lake Humane Society is asking for donations to Hotch's Angels Fund. These donations will help offset the cost of his medical care. All donations to the Angel Fund help pay for life-saving surgeries for pets like Hotch. The Angel Fund has provided extensive and emergency veterinary care to animals in need for the past 15 years.
Donations to Hotch's Angel Fund can be made HERE or by mailing a check to the Lake Humane Society -- 7564 Tyler Blvd East, Mentor, Ohio, 44060.
On the check, donators are asked to include Hotch in the memo.
Lake Humane Society noted that Hotch's situation is an ongoing court case therefore, all allegations of abuse towards animals are alleged.
