NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — The Tuscarawas County Dog Pound is currently treating a poor pooch who has been through quite the ordeal.

According to a post on the pound's Facebook page, the stray dog now named Connor was picked up Monday night on Irish Run Road with a "suspicious" wound on his neck and swelling on his face. The vet believes he was shot twice, and he is also suffering from ear and eye infections and is roughly 10 pounds underweight.

"He is the sweetest dog you will ever meet," the post read. "He allowed me to clip and clean the area yesterday by myself without even flinching."

While Connor is neutered, he is not microchipped, and it is unknown how he got to Irish Run Road or how he was shot. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to immediately call the pound at (330) 339-2616.

In addition, those wishing to donate to Connor's vet care can do so directly at the pound or at Sifferlin Animal Clinic Inc in Dover.

"We hopeful that he will make a full recovery," the pound wrote. "He may just set off metal detectors the rest of his life ;)"
