Physical distancing presents challenges for men's hair and beards

With stay-at-home orders in place, many men are facing decisions of what to do with their hair and beards.

On March 18, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued an order closing the state's salons and barbershops as a measure to encourage physical distancing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

That means that most men haven't had access to a professional haircut for at least two weeks. And with DeWine's stay-at-home order through April 6 likely to be extended, that might not be changing anytime soon.

As a result, men across Ohio find themselves facing decisions as to what to do with their hair and/or beards. Shave it all off? Let it grow? Or risk the potential pitfalls of either having your hair cut by a less-than-qualified family member or even riskier, doing it yourself.

A quick scan of social media shows that there's no one way to go about it and that many are taking different approaches to the matter. It does, however, provide plenty of examples of the potential risks associated with attempting your own hair.
