CLEVELAND — “Finally, we’re back!”

Levin Furniture has opened 17 Levin Furniture and Mattress Stores throughout the Cleveland and Pittsburgh areas with Robert Levin back in charge.

“These stores were recently acquired through the bankruptcy process when the previous owner closed all of its stores earlier this year due to the pandemic, leaving employees without jobs and customers without their deposits on furniture or refunds,” Levin officials said in a press release.

This includes eight locations in Northeast Ohio, which opened at the end of last week:

  • Oakwood Village: 23100 Broadway Ave.
  • Mentor: 7799 Mentor Ave.
  • Middleburg: 16960 Sprague Road
  • Canton: 6229 Pomler Ave. NW
  • Avon: 1801 Nagel Road
  • Mayfield: 6061 Mayfield Road
  • Stow: 1061 Graham Road
  • Strongsville: 16105 Pearl Road

The plan since this past March was to open as many of the original stores as possible, officials said, but some leases could not be secured on all of the former locations.

“When Robert Levin found out that the company he sold his business to upon his retirement several years ago was going out of business, he began the process of wanting to acquire back stores bearing his family name, reaching out to assist former associates who lost their jobs, and making a pledge to help make customers whole,” the company said.

375 former associates have already been hired, but there are additional jobs available.
