All Pat Catan's craft stores will soon close, according to The Michaels Companies, Inc.
The company announced the 36 store closures in a news release Wednesday, citing struggling profits as the reason.
All Pat Catan's stores across Ohio and its surrounding states will close in the fourth quarter of the 2018 fiscal year, according to the release. However, 12 of those stores will be re-branded under Michael's, which acquired Pat Catan's parent company Lamrite West in 2016.
Michael's CEO Chuck Rubin said in a statement that Pat Catan's employees affected by the closures will be offered other employment opportunities.
“This was not an easy decision, and I am grateful for the contributions of our Pat Catan’s Team Members," Michael's CEO Chuck Rubin said in the release. "As we work through the closing process, we intend to provide employment opportunities or transition support for all Team Members.”
