What are the top gifts for Mother's Day this year? RetailMeNot reveals 2022 trends

Across the United States, Mother’s Day spending is increasing. But what are the most popular gifts? RetailMeNot says flowers top the list this year.

Top Mother’s Day gifts for 2022, according to RetailMeNot: 

• Flowers: 47%

• Chocolate: 36% 

• Gift cards: 29%

• Dinner: 26%

• Jewelry: 22% 

• Beauty products: 19%

According to RetailMeNot, 93% of people celebrating Mother’s Day are buying their mom a gift this year, while 54% are buying multiple gifts. 

Shoppers also are spending more on their gifts. RetailMeNot reported that the average shopper is spending $134 on Mother’s Day, up from $120 in 2021 and $97 in 2020.
