2 people hospitalized after motocross bike flies into stands at Summit County Fairgrounds

The Tallmadge Fire Department says the situation is "under control," and the fairgrounds added the event resumed afterward.

TALLMADGE, Ohio — Authorities say seven people were injured after a motocross bike flew into the stands at the Summit County Fairgrounds Saturday night.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 8:42 p.m. when the bike went into the elevated seats. Four people (including at least one rider) were taken to local hospitals, with three in serious condition and the other described as fair.

The Tallmadge Fire Department says the situation is "under control," and the fairgrounds added the event resumed afterward.

Deputy Fire Chief Ben Stasik told Channel 3 that as of Sunday morning, two of the people taken to the hospital were treated in the emergency room and released. Two others were admitted to local to hospitals; one at Akron General, the other at Akron City.
