AKRON, Ohio — Akron Police are investigating two separate homicides that took place on Sunday night that do not appear to be related.

The first homicide happened just before 10:00 p.m. in the 60 block of Mapledale Avenue. A 22-year-old man was found lying on the ground with several gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives have issued an aggravated murder warrant for 23-year-old Jovonta Moore. His last known address is on East Archwood Avenue and should be considered armed and dangerous. His photo is below:

The second homicide happened after 10:00 p.m. in the 1000 block of Yale Street. Police found a 25-year-old man in the driver's seat of a parked 2018 black Infiniti with a gunshot wound to his head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives say the victim drove to Yale Street to sell the suspect marijuana. The suspect apparently took the marijuana and shot the victim before fleeing. The suspect is a light complexioned black male, wearing a black hat and windbreaker type jacket.  He was last seen in a gray 2017 Dodge Charger.
