AKRON, Ohio — It's been a long time coming but The Black Keys are back.
The Akron-based rock band released its first song in five years, and it won't disappoint those who were hoping the band would return to its early roots.
The band dropped the song, called "Lo/Hi" on YouTube and announced it via Twitter Thursday morning.
During the band's five-year hiatus, guitarist and lead singer Dan Auerbach released a solo LP called "Waiting On A Song", and drummer Patrick Carney will release "Akron, Ohio", the debut album for his other band, Sad Planets, next month, according to Pitchfork.
The band surged to fame in 2010 when its single "Tighten Up" nabbed the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The hit "Lonely Boy" followed and won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song in 2013.
