SAN FRANCISCO — AT&T customers across the Midwest reported outages Friday night, with the problem appearing to be centered in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Minnesota as well as the Philadelphia region.
The outage appears to have begun around 7:00 p.m. ET based on when tweets about the problem began.
"We are aware of a service issue which may be affecting some wireless customers in areas of Southcentral Illinois, southern Indiana and Kentucky, and we’re investigating the issue and will work to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience," said AT&T spokesperson Fletcher Cook
The problems comes a day after some West coast customers were hit with an overnight outage.Some customers were without service for 15 hours, from 1:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. According to reports, the telco experienced a general mobility issue causing call connectivity issues to AT&T mobile phones.
Cook said Thursday that normal service was restored to the customers on the West Coast who had been impacted by a hardware issue that briefly affected VoLTE services overnight.
"We quickly worked to resolve the issue and we apologize for this inconvenience," he said.
