John Carroll students are raising money for the hungry with 'Blizzard Bash'

The event is taking place on Friday, Dec. 1, at Beachland Tavern.

CLEVELAND — It's the season of giving and students at John Carroll University are doing their part to give back. Tonight they will be hosting "Blizzard Bash" to support the The Hunger Network of Cleveland.

The bash is hosted by both John Carroll University students along with their radio station, WJCU 88.7 F.M.

After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the students are excited to welcome numerous musical acts to the Beachland Tavern in Cleveland.

The 2023 lineup consists of Cleveland's own Indre, Marcus Smith Band, Apostle Jone’s and Mikey Silas & Friends. The event will also be DJ’d by Zachary ‘DJ Z13’ Sinutko, Matt Hribar, and others.

“The opportunity to use my platform to benefit those in and around my community is extremely heartwarming. WJCU could not ask for a better partner than The Hunger Network for such an impactful event,” said Sinutko

With over 70 hunger centers placed in and around the Cleveland area, The Hunger Network provides food and supplies to those in the area who need it the most. Every $25 donated to this year's event will help provide approximately 100 meals to those in need.

“I'm excited for the return of the in-person Blizzard Bash for the first time since 2019. It's a great way for us to showcase the outstanding musical talent we have in Northeast Ohio and support a great cause during the holiday season,” said WJCU's General Manager Jasen Sokol.

The event starts this evening at 7p.m. at the Beachland Tavern located on Waterloo Road in Cleveland. Tickets for the event, which cost $10, can be purchased HERE.
