CLEVELAND — As Pride Month continues to be celebrated in June to honor the LGBTQ+ community, 3News held our latest A Turning Point panel discussion on Tuesday night.
3News reporter Emma Henderson moderated the forum which was streamed live at WKYC.com, the WKYC app, and on YouTube. The discussion focused on where things stand with LGBTQ+ protections in Ohio and what's next.
Earlier this month, Ohio GOP House members inserted a transgender girl sports ban in an unrelated education bill. Hearings have been held for a bill that would ban gender-affirming care in Ohio.
Henderson was joined by the following panelists:
- Ohio Senator Nickie Antonio (D-Lakewood)
- Phyllis Harris, Executive Director LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland
- Monika Veliz, President of Margie's Hope
- Ken Schneck, Founding Editor, The Buckeye Flame
A Turning Point: Pride will air on 3News this Thursday at 7 p.m.
