CLEVELAND — Multiple investigations are underway following a particularly violent weekend in Cleveland, with 13 people being shot and three of them dying within the city during the period beginning Friday night through Sunday.
According to officials, the nine separate shooting incidents took place within less than 48 hours of each other. Of the three homicides, two of them involved triple shootings, including one that saw a 17-year-old boy lose his life.

The first killing took place around 2:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rapid Stop gas station on East 55th Street, where officers initially found a "large and unruly crowd" surrounding the victims. Authorities then learned one of the victims had gotten into a fight with an unknown woman when one suspect intervened and shot the victim in the head. The same suspect then began shooting at others, with two or three others also firing weapons.
A 47-year-old man was shot in the chest while pumping gas and taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, while a 21-year-old man was also wounded in the backside. The initial victim, identified as 23-year-old Daveonte Carlos Winnick, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they have identified a 27-year-old male as a "person of interest" but are still working to find the other shooters. No arrests have been made at this time.
The second triple shooting took place around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, when 17-year-old Tireese Martin-Croom was found killed inside his car near St. Clair Avenue and London Road. A pair of 16-year-old boys were also shot — one in the arm and the other in the face — and taken by ambulance to UH.
Witnesses said the three victims were riding in their Kia Forte when a dark-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside began firing bullets at the vehicle. Again, no arrests have been made.
The third and final homicide took place at yet another gas station, this time the Marathon on East 116th Street. Just before 3:45 p.m., police were told the 24-year-old victim was getting gas when a man in a ski mask shot him several times before running away. The victim, who has been identified as Marquise Craig of Cleveland, died from his injuries at UH. The suspect remains at large.
