A 14-year-old male was taken into police custody on Wednesday afternoon in connection with a crime that took place in Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood.
The teen, whose identity has not yet been released, was arrested in connection to an aggravated robbery and felonious assault that occurred on December 27.
During the incident, which occurred near Mayfield and Random Roads, the victim, a young female, sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.
The boy was taken into custody by officers with the Cleveland Police Fifth District Community Services Unit.
According to Cleveland Police, four aggravated robbery/motor vehicle incidents have occurred in the area over the course of the past few weeks.
All the incidents have involved young females as victims in the Little Italy neighborhood.
The suspected males responsible for the crimes have been described as teenage black males who used a black handgun with a green laser on it.
Following Wednesday's arrest, detectives continue to investigate all four incidents. Police believe that the string of crimes in the Little Italy area is connected.
