PARMA, Ohio — Two people have been taken to the hospital and one person is in custody following a shooting at a Parma banquet hall Saturday night.
Police say the incident occurred following a fight between three men during a birthday party at KD Party Center on State Road. The 28-year-old suspect apparently shot one of the men he was fighting with as well as a 28-year-old pregnant woman, grazing her on her stomach.
The injured man, 32, was shot in his stomach and is currently in the hospital in critical condition. The woman is said to be stable.
According to officials at the scene, the suspect was trying to leave when he dropped his 9mm handgun. He was quickly arrested and initially denied involvement before later admitting to firing two shots, authorities claim.
Police did not have additional information on the suspects or the victims, but noted that none of them are Parma residents. The matter remains under investigation.
