SHELBY, Ohio — A Richland County man has been charged with murder in the death of his wife.
According to the sheriff’s office, 22-year-old Gaberien Clevenger was reported missing on Feb. 10 to the Shelby Police Department. Officers began investigating her disappearance along with the sheriff’s office.
Clevenger was married to 21-year-old Alec Blair and the couple was planning to divorce. She was reported to be last seen in her husband’s Jeep.
Blair’s Jeep was later located at his place of employment. The sheriff’s office said officers and deputies observed evidence inside the vehicle that led them to believe a crime had been committed.
Blair was taken to the police department and interviewed. He apparently directed law enforcement to a wooded area on the west side of Bowman south of State Route 96 where Clevenger’s body was found.
Blair was taken to the Richland County Jail. He has been charged with murder with a recommended bond of $500,000.
