CLEVELAND — A woman who was wanted by Cleveland police for aggravated murder in connection to a man's death by shooting in July was arrested Thursday afternoon by U.S. Marshals in Sandusky.

Le'ceeonna White, 21, was found by members of the Marshals Service's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and transported to Cleveland police custody after being arrested at a residence on East Adams Street.

Cleveland police allege a man was shot in the back while he was trying to run away from the shooter at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of East 30th Street in Cleveland on July 13. The victim later died of his injuries. White was "identified as being involved in the incident" and police issued a warrant for her arrest on Thursday.

Marshals executed a search warrant and seized a gun from the Sandusky residence after arresting White.

"Another outstanding investigation conducted by the Cleveland Division of Police homicide unit led to a successful arrest today," U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, hailing the "strong working relationship" between Cleveland police and the Marshals service.
