A 23-year-old is in police custody Monday afternoon following the fatal shooting of 48-year-old man in Akron.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Kahlyl Powe for the murder of Kristopher Roukey on Sunday.

“Senseless violence and murder will not be tolerated in any of our communities in northern Ohio. Law enforcement will work day and night to bring those wanted for these heinous crimes to justice," said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. "Hopefully the swift arrest of this suspect will bring some closure to the family of the victim.”
According to reports, Roukey was found inside his car near the intersection of Buchtel Avenue and Straw Street suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Roukey was working as a driver for a ride share provider at the time of the shooting.
He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Powe was quickly identified as the suspect in the murder. The NOVFT worked closely with the Akron Police Department to uncover Powe's whereabouts.
Powe was arrested at an apartment in the 500 block of Buchtel Ave., just blocks from where the murder occurred. Police also recovered a firearm at the arrest scene.
