CLEVELAND — Three people are dead following a pair of shootings that took place in the overnight hours of Thursday on Cleveland's west side.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, officers responded to the area of West 47th Street and Denison Avenue at around 12:30 a.m. for reports of shots in the area. At the scene, officers spotted two unknown men running on Hannon Street, getting into a black sedan and fleeing the area. When police returned to the original scene, they saw a Chrysler 300 parked in the 4600 block of Hannon Street. Inside, a 35-year-old man was in the driver's seat and a woman was in the front passenger seat. Both had multiple gunshot wounds to the body. After EMS arrived, both victims were pronounced dead.
A person of interest in the case has not been identified. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 216-623-5464. Also on Thursday morning, police responded to Springco Metal Coating at 12500 Elmwood Avenue in connection with a man shot at 2:25 a.m. Officers found a vehicle crashed, with a 26-year-old old woman in the driver’s seat with multiple wounds to the legs and body. A 23-year-old woman was also found. Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and took both victims to MetroHealth. The 26-year-old woman female was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the deceased woman is a former employee at Springco and the 23-year-old victim is a current employee. There was a verbal altercation between the two victims and another employee. Shots were heard in the area.
