Mansfield police: 30-year-old man killed, suspect in custody

Mansfield police say a suspect has been identified and arrested on an unrelated felony warrant.

MANSFIELD, Ohio — An investigation is underway after a man died following a shooting in Mansfield.

Mansfield police responded to 29 Minerva Avenue at around 4:11 a.m. after a male called police to say he had shot another man who was "wielding a knife." 

Upon arriving at the scene, police found a 30-year-old man dead inside a bedroom with a single gunshot wound. 

Police say a suspect was identified and arrested on an unrelated felony warrant. At this time, detectives are working to gather additional information.
