CLEVELAND — A 33-year-old man has been charged by the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in connection to the death of Anastasia Hamilton.
Kenneth Banville of Cleveland was indicted on Jan. 3 on the following charges:
- One count of involuntary manslaughter
- One count of gross abuse of a corpse
- One count of tampering with evidence
- Corrupting another with drugs
- One count of fourth-degree trafficking
- Two counts of fifth-degree trafficking
- One count of permitting drug abuse
- One county of possessing criminal tools
- Two counts of having weapons under disability
- Two counts of drug possession
Banville, who pleaded not guilty, is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond. At this time, the next court date has not been set.
Hamilton was found dead inside a Slavic Village home on May 25, 2022, nearly four days after she was reported missing. Officials said she was found with lacerations and abrasions all over her head, torso, and limbs.
Just four days before being found, surveillance photos showed Hamilton and a man walking inside the Terminal Tower Parking garage on West Superior Avenue.
Rachel McDonald, who was close friends with Hamilton since middle school, spoke to 3News following her death: "The sweetest, nicest. kindest person. If you were lucky enough to be her friend, you knew she had your back through whatever."
