SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Seven people have been charged following a human trafficking sting operation Thursday night in Springfield Township.
Police say the operation took about eight hours after alleged victims were contacted through advertisements for sexual services on the internet. 12 people were detailed, and eventually four were arrested for soliciting prostitution, two for felony promoting prostitution, and one for felony drug possession.
In addition, authorities say multiple victims of human trafficking were rescued from the scene. Their cases are currently being investigated.
The names of those arrested are not being released at this time "to ensure the safety of the victims and to preserve the integrity of the investigation."
