AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man who previously admitted to raping two children who were in his care as well as possessing child pornography will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Scott Jacobson, 45, pleaded guilty on Aug. 15 to two counts of rape, 10 counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, and two counts of gross sexual imposition. On Friday, Summit County Common Pleas Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Jacobson, who lived on Flora Avenue in Kenmore, was arrested back in June. According to the indictment against him, the first rape occurred sometime between 2011 and 2015, while the second took place this past spring. Both victims were under the age of 10 at the time of the assaults.

Besides Scott Jacobson, 38-year-old Kristina Jacobson is also accused of rape and other charges in connection with the case. She was released from jail on bond and is currently being evaluated to see if she is competent to stand trial, with a status hearing scheduled for Dec. 18. Court records show she shared the same address as Scott Jacobson.

Should Scott Jacobson ever be released from prison, he will be required to register as a Tier III sex offender every 90 days for the remainder of his life.
