Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Allison Breaux sentenced Mohamed Serour to life in prison for the murder of LaDaviere Davis.

Prior to the sentencing, Serour pled guilty to murder with a gun specification. Serour will be eligible for parole after serving 16 years of his sentence.

The deadly shooting happened on May 25, 2021, when 20-year-old Davis was shot and killed inside his home on North Valley Street in Akron.

Eight months after the shooting, Akron police pulled over Serour and found he was in possession of the gun that was used to shoot and kill Davis. Investigators determined that the car Serour was driving was at the victim's home at the time of the murder.
