CLEVELAND — An Akron man was sentenced to 16 years behind bars on charges involving child sexual abuse materials, U.S. Attorney Rebecca Lutzko's office announced Friday.
David Walker, 39, was sentenced to 16 years in prison and 15 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to receipt, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), also referred to as child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Walker was an active user on BitTorrent, a decentralized internet file-sharing service that is often used to share illegal files such as CSAM.
Walker received and distributed nearly 400 video files showing sexual abuse and exploitation of children, according to court documents. A federal search warrant was executed at Walker's home, revealing a computer tablet with CSAM files that the U.S. Attorney's office says contained "male and female children of various ages under 17 including infants and toddlers."
The case was investigated by the FBI, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the Brunswick Division of Police.
