Akron man sentenced to prison for crash that killed passenger

Kenny Clinton pled guilty earlier in 2023 to three felonies stemming from the incident.

AKRON, Ohio — 37-year-old Kenny Clinton of Akron will spend the next seven years in prison for his role in a 2021 crash that killed a passenger in his vehicle.

Clinton pled guilty to the following charges on February 16 stemming from the incident:

  • Aggravated Vehicular Homicide – a Felony of the 3rd Degree
  • Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Police Officer – a Felony of the 3rd Degree
  • Failure to Stop After an Accident – a Felony of the 4th Degree

According to court documents, in October 2021, Clinton was driving with 24-year-oild Keera Brady on Marcy Street in Akron when police attempted to pull him over.  Clinton drove off attempting to flee, eventually crashing into a dumpster an Andrus Street near Steiner Avenue. 

Bradley died from her injuries in the crash. Clinton continued to flee on foot after the crash. Shortly after fleeing, Clinton called police to report his car stolen.

Investigators were able to confirm that he was the driver of the vehicle through DNA samples taken from the car.
