CLEVELAND — Cleveland police have canceled an Amber Alert for a missing 1-year-old girl allegedly taken by her father.
The alert indicated the victim disappeared from her mother's home around East 105th Street and Superior Avenue around 7 p.m. Thursday. The suspect, identified as the girl's 34-year-old biological father Lamar Miles, purportedly "threaten[ed] to cause serious physical harm to the child."
Lamar Miles, of Willowick, was believed to be riding with the girl in a dark blue/black/gray 2023 Kia Sportage with an Ohio license plate number of JCJ9121. Around 12:15 a.m. Friday, authorities say both Marleah and Lamar Miles were found in Swanton, Ohio, near Toledo.
Per officials, the 1-year-old girl was taken to a nearby hospital "for precautionary evaluation," though she is believed to be OK. Lamar Miles was arrested on unspecified charges.
"This case will continue to be investigated for final determination," The Cleveland Division of Police said in a statement. "We would like to extend our gratitude to the local media and our community for their assistance."
