CLEVELAND -- The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's office says Jeremi J. Alicea, of Bedford, has been charged with 22 counts related to child pornography.
Alicea is the nephew of Ariel Castro, the man who kidnapped and raped three women over the course of 10 years. The girls escaped last year and Castro hanged himself in prison.
Alicea, 26, who turns 27 on Friday, was charged with 21 counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor and one count of possessing criminal tool, according to court records.
His arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Feb. 13 on the 12th Floor of the Justice Center.
Court records show that the alleged crimes occurred Sept. 17 and Oct. 8 and the "criminal tool" charge is for a laptop he owns.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led the child porn investigation.
