Police arrest suspects who struck North Olmsted police officer during shoplifting incident

Police have not provided an update on the officer's condition.

CLEVELAND — Police on Monday arrested a pair of suspects accused of striking a police officer with a car during a shoplifting incident last week.

Police arrested Jamal Samhan and Krystalyn Marcum near the 3500 block of W. 126th Street in Cleveland. The two were wanted for striking a North Olmsted officer with a getaway car Thursday night after Marcum was accused of shoplifting.

The officer was taken to a local hospital. North Olmsted police have not commented on the officer's condition.

Police turned to Facebook for help in identifying the pair.
