BARBERTON, Ohio — Three men are facing charges after surveillance cameras caught them in an act of vandalism at Barberton Elementary West.
The vandalism occurred Jan. 13, when a large digital school sign was damaged. The suspects also tried to pry open a door to enter the school, but were unsuccessful.
Surveillance video at the school showed the trio of suspects throwing rocks at windows and lights on the property. Once the video was sent to school administrators and patrol officers, an officer was able to identify the suspects after dealing with them the previous night.
As a result, the following are charged with vandalism:
- Johnathan M. Carpenter, 20, of Barberton
- Zakary J. Yanders, 20, Barberton
- Jeremiah Clark, 18, of Barberton
